How to Re-Press a Broken Eyeshadow ( and a note from VE)

Table of Contents

We pack every order with care and intention, but occasionally, despite our best efforts eyeshadows can arrive broken in transit. It’s never what we expect, and we’re always genuinely sorry when it happens.

The good news is that a broken eyeshadow doesn’t mean it’s ruined. With a little time and care, most pressed powders can be restored easily at home and used as normal.

Below is a simple, safe way to re-press your shadow.

    What You’ll Need

    • Rubbing alcohol (70% or higher)

    • A clean spoon or spatula

    • A piece of tissue or kitchen roll

    • Something flat to press with (a coin wrapped in tissue works well)

    Step 1: Break It Down

Gently crumble the broken eyeshadow until it becomes a fine, even powder. This helps remove air pockets and ensures a smooth finish when re-pressed.

    Step 2: Add Alcohol

Slowly add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the powder. You’re aiming for a wet sand like consistency damp, not runny.

    Step 3: Smooth and Press

Use the back of your spoon to smooth the mixture evenly into the pan.
Place a piece of tissue over the top and press down firmly with your flat object to compact the shadow.

    Step 4: Let It Dry

Leave the eyeshadow uncovered in a well-ventilated area for at least 24 hours. Once fully dry, it’s ready to use again.
